Saints extend head coach Payton through 2012
One of the game's most innovative offensive minds, Payton has New Orleans off to a fast start in his third year as coach. Overall, Payton is 18-15 at the helm of the Saints, which is very impressive considering the weak roster he was dealt. Never scared to get pass happy, Payton is the league's best at getting production from retread type receivers. His job security bodes well for all Saints skill players, particularly Drew Brees, Jeremy Shockey, and Reggie Bush as a PPR back.

Saints place Simoneau on IR
He was New Orleans' top reserve at all three linebacker spots, so New Orleans had better hope no guys in front of him go down for an extended period. Simoneau needs surgery on his back.
