Giants GM would welcome Plax back
The team isn't planning on Plax's legal problems clearing up in time, though more will be known on that front later this month. Coach Tom Coughlin hasn't exactly embraced Plax's potential return, but Reese has left the door open all along.

Jacobs again says he wants Burress back
"We have to hope Plaxico Burress gets out of all the issues he has...legally," Jacobs said. "If he can get out of that, we can bring him back and I think that is basically all we need. Report: Giants, Plax have limited contact
Plax's court date for illegal gun possession is March 31, and he appears likely to receive jail time and a NFL suspension. The Giants have little choice but to continue their offseason planning without Plax as a part of their future.

Burress to serve jail time?
The newspaper states this in a one-liner at the end of a column, so it looks to be more of a common belief than an actual report. Burress is almost certain to open 2009 on suspension by the NFL whether or not he's behind bars.
